Anita Goodesign Workshops

We all love Anita Goodesign embroideries! These fun classes are open to everyone who is interested in embroidery (whether you have a machine or not). Most classes include a video demonstration of an embroidery project. Bring your machine to make the project or just observe. For just $10, you can leave with the project information and tutorial, design disc, and a newsletter. Any machine is welcome; designs are offered in every format. User must be familiar with their machine.

Foundation Skills

Beginner Basics

Do you want to learn to sew, but don't know where to start? Then this class is just what you are looking for. You will learn basic sewing techniques and build a collection of samples, tips, and guidelines. Some of the skills you will learn include how to purchase and read a pattern, gathering, inserting elastic, zippers, hemming, sleeves, and other skills you will need for garment construction, quilting or home decor. You will set up a basic sewing kit and learn how to purchase commercial patterns. This class is sure to boost your sewing confidence and skills in no time! If you do not own a sewing machine, please let us know so that you may borrow one. (minimum age - 16 years old)

Easy, Peasy Zippers Part 1

Do you have "zipper fear"? This is the class for you! Learn how to insert a centered zipper and a lapped zipper along with tips and tricks for zipper applications.

Asian Kimono Quilt

Feng shui is the art of living in harmony with your environment for health, wealth and happiness. What better way to introduce a little Asian influence than with the Asian Impression Quilt? Its sew and flip construction is perfect the beginner as well as advanced quilter.

Block of the Month - All That Jazz

This block of the month quilt uses a large floral and bold stripe to create an elegant queen sized quilt that looks far more complex than it is. The six monthly sessions will include demonstrations of easy piecing methods and ideas for your next quilting project.

Dash of Lightning

"Dash" is another variety of the popular chevron design using pieced blocks and striking colors to achieve a dramatic looking quilt. You will learn how to make half square triangles using Triangles on a Roll. This class is designed to learn the tips and techniques for making this quilt. The only class sewing will be the half square triangles. The remainder of this quilt will be finished at home.

Make a “charming” little wall hanging or table topper. This goes together quickly and can be made in any colors for a special occasion or holiday.

Learn to Quilt

If you are new to quilting, or simply want to update your quilting skills, this series of 6 classes will help you get started. You will learn how to use a rotary cutter and ruler, accurate measuring and piecing, thread and needle choices, use of various machine feet, types of batting, stitch-in-the-ditch quilting, and how to bind. By the end of the series you will have made a 40" x 40" quilt and you will be a quilter!

Pet Portrait

Students will make a small quilted portrait of their pet which can be used as a wall hanging, pillow top or to decorate a tote bag. The instructor will print a photo (provided by the student) on fabric which will be used as a base for the thread painting. Students will thread paint right on the fabric photo following the lines and colors.

Quilt Clinic

Do you have questions about batting or binding? Unsure about how to “quilt as desired?” Need time to finish those UFOs that are piling up? Then Quilt Clinic is for you!
