What is a “Basic Sewing Kit”?

Many of our class and mastery supply lists request that you bring a “Basic Sewing Kit”.

Here’s what you should have in yours.

Good quality fabric scissors
Small scissors or thread snips
6” seam gauge or ruler
Seam ripper
Straight pins
Fabric marker
Needles for your machine
Pen and paper for notes
Anything you commonly use for a fun day of sewing

	Claudia Dinnell Workshop In the 2 Day workshop students will learn to Load, Convert and Save pictures in Bernina Designer Plus V6 software through Art Canvas. Create line designs from a .bmp using the Single, Triple and Backstitch Outlines. Develop an appreciation for the incredible Blackwork Run Tool to meld lines together to avoid jump stitches! Claudia’s Creation’s exclusive technique for using First Stitch Marks makes perfect placement easy and accurate. Learn the value of the Break Apart Tool and when and why it is used. Understand and manage the Reshape Tool for perfecting designs. Cost: $ 120.00
	Flower in a Day Workshop The instructor will provide a group of flower photos which have been altered in photoshop and printed on fabric for students to embellish with free motion stitching and other embellishments. The picture will be mounted and the edges finished with a triple satin stitch ready to hang. These make great gifts. Cost: $ 60.00
	Pants Drafting Workshop This is a great pant drafting class. You'll be able to construct a perfectly fitted pair of pants after you take this class. Cost: $ 70.00
	Photoshop to Fabric Workshop This class is an introduction to using Photoshop Elements Version 7 or later to prepare photos for printing on fabric. Students will experiment with artistic filters, editing tools, and print settings to get better printouts on prepared fabric sheets. Discussion will include what is needed in digital photographs to get the best printouts. Cost: $ 60.00
